Updated schedule

Here is our schedule from now until next Saturday. I cannot stress how important it is to be at ALL of the remaining rehearsals!!!!!!!!!!!

Saturday 10/30 : 9am-3pm~We will start out at the elementary school. We will have a full dress rehearsal. We will stop for lunch at about 11:30. We will start again at 12:00. We will try and sneak over to the high school and practice on their stage for the afternoon. Pictures will start at 2:30. We will get a full cast photo, individual pictures of each student in their costume, and then a few group pics. Pictures may run a little after 3:00, so if your child must leave right at 3:00, let me know.

Monday 11/1: Rehearsal after school from 3:30-5:30~Since we are having the show here at school, there is no reason to send everyone home and have them come back up.

Tuesday 11/2: (No school, but we ARE rehearsing 4:00-6:00)~We will rehearse at the elementary school.

Wednesday: Rehearse after school from 3:30-5:30

Thursday: Full dress rehearsal at the high school until 7:00~This will be our first time rehearsing on the high school stage with all of the props and backdrops. We will feed everyone before we leave and get into costume. We will rehearse until 7:00. Students can be picked up at the high school.

Friday: SHOWTIME!!~Students will stay after school. We will feed them after school and run through the show before starting hair and make up at 5:30. Ticket sales will begin at 6:30 and remaining seats will be first come, first serve. The show will likely run a little over an hour with intermission. After the show, students will form a receiving line where they can greet the people who came to see the show. Parents can wait for their children in the library.

Saturday (2:00 show)~Students can be dropped off at the high school at noon. Please make sure they eat before they come. We will get them ready. Ticket sales will begin at 1:30. Students will once again form a receiving line after the show to greet their guests. Students are able to stay at the high school between shows. They should pack a lunch to eat and maybe bring a sleeping bag if they are staying. We will show a movie.

Report time for the evening show is 5:00. Students should be dropped off at the high school. Ticket sales will begin 30 minutes prior to the show. Students will be released after the receiving line is completed. We will keep all the costumes and props until the following week. We are trying to work out performing the show to the entire school.

Any questions, please call!!

Gaslight Theater

Here are some pics from our visit to the theater today. It is an old historic theater with lots of charm and great acoustics. The balcony seats are the original 1907 seats. The lower level are from Music Hall. The kids will love it!!

Cross your fingers...

We should hear from UC Clermont tomorrow!!!!! I will send out something as soon as I hear.

Remember, full cast rehearsal on Saturday from 9-12. We will do a parent meeting and costume show at 11:30. I know several people have asked if they can attend rehearsals, but with the size of the cast that would make it very difficult. Parents alone would be 70 people. Plus, we are NOT ready!! We want to share it with you when it is polished (which will most likely be show night)! I will try and post some video of Saturday's rehearsal this weekend.

Remember t shirt orders are due Tuesday. Please let me know if you intend on buying your child's costume Saturday so I know what I have to raffle off at the show.

I know there has been a lot of expenses these last few weeks. I have tried to spread it out a little. As a Mom of a drama kid, I understand! We are not trying to fund raise you to death. T shirts, liner notes and costumes are all typical play costs. You are not obligated to purchase the costume. We were selling them anyway and wanted to offer them to you first. Ticket should be your only other expense. Any questions, please let me know.

Rehearsals this week

I went over the rehearsal schedule this week on Thursday. I need everyone on Monday and Thursday. On Tuesday I just need Cinderella, Stepmother, stepsisters, mice, narrators and the Fairy Godmother.

Everyone needs to practice, practice, practice those songs at home!!!!!!!!!!!

Boy shoe clarification!!!!!

OK, I thought all the boys were in knickers. Only the town criers and townsmen are in knickers and therefore need boots. My noble men (king, prince, grand duke, and herald) are in long pants and just need plain black shoes.

Any questions, please ask!!!

SHOES!!!

BOYS:
The boys (except mice) will need to wear boots. They will be wearing knickers (they are so excited). They are going to be even more thrilled when they hear they are going to be girl boots. They need black boots that go nearly to the knee. I found some online at Walmart and Payless. They need to be somewhat simple if you are a town crier or townsman and maybe with a little gold or silver buckle if you are a nobleman. Here are links to the boots I found.

GIRLS:
The girls (except mice) need to get black Mary Janes or flats. I know you can get them several places, so I am not posting pics or links. They should be simple and comfortable.

Any questions, please ask!!!

Week 2 update

Last week's rehearsals went very well! The kids did a great job and I think we are off to a great start. Tomorrow I will be sending home an updated rehearsal schedule. I have broken down the rehearsal days by pages. This week we will rehearse the same days and times as last week, Mon., Tues., and Thurs. until 5:00. Next week we will extend rehearsals until 5:30. Rehearsals will run until 5:30 until the show.

Many have asked if you will be able to buy your child's costume after the show. I will send home order forms for the costumes with the rehearsal schedules tomorrow. All costumes will be available for $25 each. Any costume not sold will be sold to a theater company. I know many kids have not seen their costumes yet, but I know they will be awesome!! If you have any questions about this, please let me know.

Soon I will be posting of pictures of footwear that you will need to find for your actor. Boys are going to need boots. Girls will most likely be in plain, black Mary Janes or flats.

We are starting to plan the props and sets. We are going to have a kitchen, town square, and the palace. Right now, we need an old fashion looking kitchen table (small), and other furniture to put in our small kitchen. We need an old fashion looking broom and old fashion, steel bucket. If you have anything you think we can use, please let me know!

Thanks!!
